Welcome to Sisters in Scrubs (“SIS”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By accessing or using our website, submitting a student application, or participating in our student community, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1. Purpose of the Organization
Sisters in Scrubs is an independent, student-founded pre-health organization based in New Jersey. Our purpose is to inspire, educate, and mentor high school and pre-medical young women pursuing careers across clinical specialties, surgery, and biomedical research through peer collaboration, guest speakers, skill workshops, and community outreach.
2. Community Code of Conduct
All members, applicants, and visitors are expected to foster a respectful, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. By participating, you agree to:
- Treat fellow students, guest physicians, and community members with dignity and respect.
- Promote gender equity and collaborative learning in medicine and STEM.
- Refrain from any form of harassment, discrimination, hate speech, bullying, or disruptive conduct.
- Maintain honesty and academic integrity in all submissions, applications, and organizational roles.
Sisters in Scrubs reserves the right to decline or revoke membership for violations of these community guidelines.
3. Educational Content & Intellectual Property
The materials on this website, including curriculum summaries, specialty guides, design assets, and logos, are authored and curated by student leads for the Sisters in Scrubs organization:
- Attribution: Clinical curriculum summaries cite respected medical bodies, peer-reviewed journals, and educational foundations (e.g., ACOG, AAOS, AMWA, PubMed).
- Personal Use: Students and educators may freely read, download, and reference our public guides for personal, non-commercial, and educational study.
- Commercial Restrictions: You may not sell, monetize, or republish our original content, marks, or logos without prior written permission.
4. Application Submissions & Member Spotlights
When you submit an application through our site:
- You represent that the information provided (including your name, academic status, and personal responses) is accurate and truthful.
- If you choose to submit an optional photograph and Instagram handle for our student member spotlight, you grant Sisters in Scrubs permission to feature your image and academic interests on our official Instagram page (@sisterhood_inscrubs). You may request removal at any time.
5. Links to External Resources
Our specialties directory contains links to third-party organizations, hospital programs, and academic societies (e.g., RWJBarnabas Health, Perry Initiative, Outset). These links are provided solely for educational exploration. Sisters in Scrubs does not control, sponsor, or endorse external third-party content and is not responsible for their availability or policies.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
This website and all related resources are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind.
